During our last trip to London in November to meet with the designers who are working on the Trend Forum of SPINEXPO, we snuck in a few hours one morning to go with designer Felicity Brown along Portobello Road in the quest for Vintage Inspiration. While we knew that going on a weekday meant that we would be missing the main Antique Market (England’s largest!), held on Sunday mornings, we were excited to go and explore this famous street. The street we discovered was a lovely walk, filled with cute cafes and proper vintage shops featuring a range of prices and eras to choose from. In the photos below we share our discoveries which include the names of the shops and addresses in case you get a chance for your own visit one day.

The Cloth Shop

We couldn’t resist going into the Cloth Shop and we were allowed to take photos of their lovely displays.
Offering a wide array of trims and fabrics, the items are displayed in a charming way that recalls an old fashioned general store.
Vintage items like blankets and linens are sold in addition to quality fabrics.

The Cloth Shop is located at 290 Portobello Road London, England W10 5TE.

Found and Vision

Just off Portobello we found the vintage store Found and Vision, which had a very nice and well priced selection.

Found and Vision is located at 104 Golborne Road London W10 5PS

Alice’s Antiques

We were looking for clothes but got sidetracked by this amazing antique shop!

Alice’s Antiques, 86 Portobello Rd, London W11 2QD, United Kingdom

A view down one of the charming lanes with lovely colored doors that match the florist’s blooming bouquets on the corner.

A nice break after a morning of walking the shops.
