Craft, Design, Fashion and Graphic Design in Korea

Byung-hoon CHOI

We recently went to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs to view Korea now! the extensive exhibit which features over 700 pieces created by 150 Korean artists arranged in partnership with the Korean Craft & Design Foundation. The collection on display was breathtaking on many levels, most strikingly by the sheer beauty and talent that came through in the beautiful and eloquent designs, whether it was a basket made from twisted paper yarns, a knitted couch or historic Korean robes. We were happy to find out that visitors are allowed to photograph the exhibit however the task soon became a bit daunting when we realised the sheer volume of the exhibit and inspiring quality of the pieces. In this post we took to a selection of our favorites from the hundreds of photos we took, however would strongly encourage a visit in person if you have a chance to visit Paris before January 3, 2016, when the exhibit ends.
